The Bryce Wings

Symmetrical extensions added to the east and west of the 18th century house. They were carefully designed in a matching style but contained accommodation on four floors rather than three.

The wings had shallow slated roofs contained within parapets above the level fo the lead roof of the original house. Most of the external walls remain intact. As with the original part of the house, there is some evidence of internal finishes and joinery including the remains of some windows. Some of the McConnell patent trusses survive in the building while others were moved to stable block during its conversion to the family home in 1900. The position of the service stair in the east wing is clear.
