The Service Range

To the west of the west wing was a service yard, which was an integral part of the 1857 work. The service yard was surrounded by single storey buildings with a pitched slate roof within screen walls. The north block contained kitchens for the enlarged house, while the west block contained a cart shed and passage between the yard and the gateway at the center of the west outside wall.
