Activities for Schools

As part of our contribution to the Curriculum for Excellence, our Rangers organise a number of activities throughout the year specifically designed for young people and we welcome requests from schools to visit the Estate to take part in either Ranger-led or self-guided activities.

For 2016/17 we look forward to offering:

  • Visits to Penicuik House and Estate to experience our rich natural and built heritage
  • Natural art activities
  • Minibeast hunts and heritage trails on the Estate
  • Practical conservation tasks in and around the Estate
  • Projects relating to the John Muir Award and Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes

Please contact our Rangers at to register your interest or request more information.  You can also download a booking form.
